The oil pump in an internal combustion engine that circulates engine oil under pressure to the rotating bearings, the sliding pistons and the camshaft of the engine.
The oil pump can sometimes be on the outside of the engine, if not it can be an externally mounted pump.
Low oil pressure.
Increased engine operating temperature.
Noise.
Oil pump failure.
